The U.S. is now a vassal state of the old Soviet Union. We no longer protect or care much about democracy. That this has transpired should surprise no one given the long relationship between Trump and Putin, and Trump’s own refusal to acknowledge the right of the people to choose their leaders. I’m having a hard time putting a positive spin on this apart from the fact that Europe has relied on an unreliable ally since roughly, or exactly, the eleventh of September, 2001, and should look to its own defenses in the manner of the Emperor Honorius’ letter to Roman Britons. Spoiler alert that ended with Celtic Britain becoming a Germanic State.

We in the U.S. need to take a long look at ourselves and figure out how we became what we’ve become. How we lost the moral clarity to refute, and elect, probably the worst person in America, who has largely abdicated his duties to perhaps the second worst person in America.
